How to be trendy this Spring

Fashion Trends for Spring 2009~

Spring and summer is the time for exotic prints, large polka dots and romantic blooms. For 2009 fashionistas will be wearing vivid colors and adventurous prints. Forget the African Tribal prints from last year; it’s all about the bright colors this spring/summer season. The Pantone Fashion Spring 2009 guide reports the top 10 colors for the season, which are Lavender, Fuchsia Red, Salmon Rose, Palace Blue, Lucite Green, Super Lemon, Dark Citron, Vibrant Green, Slate Gray and Rose Dust. If you have anyone of these colors for the spring and summer season ahead you are on the right track to becoming a true “Self-Explanatory Fashionista”
Now wearing baggy rolled up jeans WILL not be one of the looks you will see me in this 2009 season, but I do admit that it’s the perfect combination of comfort and urban chic. Add to the fact that this look also combine new fashionable elements, like the high waist, the wide belt and that certain air of secretary/office appropriateness, and we could actually have a winner on our hands.

Top 8 Spring Trends:

1) New Nudes- Shades of Shades of beige and flesh-toned nudes were a signature look on the spring runways.

2) Ruffles- Tiers of feminine ruffles continue to be a hot trend. Whether you wear them outrageously oversized or soft and subtle, ruffles will add a flouncy feminine touch to your look this season.

3) Mini’s- you've got legs and this is the season to flaunt them. From skirts and dresses to shorts, hemlines this spring are north of the knee.

4) Metallics- whether bold and flashy or subtle and neutral, metallics shine on as a big trend this season. Look for sparkling silver, gold and copper to adorn clothing and accessories in every price range:

5) Stripes- this season's multitude of bold sailor stripes will have you dreaming of the French Riviera and classic Coco Chanel style.

6) Bright Colors- From bold brights to shocking neon, color is big this season

7) Florals- Nothing brightens your day faster than adorning yourself in one of this season's fresh-picked floral pieces

8) Asymmetrical Necklines- One-shoulder and asymmetrical necklines were all over the spring runways and the award show red carpets this season.

Michelle Obama and her role in the White House

Here is Michelle's Cover for Vogue. She looks wonderful and I just love the caption..."The First Lady The World's Been Waiting For". Perfect!

Since President Obama decided to run for office over 2 years ago the world has been watching closely to the woman by his side. From the very beginning she has been the epitome of a woman of substance and class. She is a woman that puts family first, stands by her man, knows how to articulate and speak very well but at the same time will step back and let Barack take the reins.

A lot of critiques have criticized her outspokenness and ability to take control of a room as if she could be president herself. We must not forget she was the "Boss Lady" to our magnificent president at one time. Therefore, her poise and charisma should not be too much of a shock. President Obama has a true women whom he can learn from and teach. A true leader must know how to follow. Michelle and Barack are an example of this philosophy.

Michelle Obama is a double minority, who is educated, successful... and did I mention THE FIRST LADY OF THE UNITED STATES." While fitting the stereotype... independent, aggressive, strong and outspoken, she changes the negative commutation to a Positive. So not only is she The first lady the world has been waiting for... she is the exceptional example of what the world needs to see!
